Thanksgiving 2017: What's Open, Closed In Del Ray
Some services in Del Ray are closed on both Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Many services are closed in the City of Alexandria during Thanksgiving as families gather to have dinner. Some will remain closed on Black Friday, including government offices, libraries and schools.
Other services such as museums and recreation centers will reopen Friday.
Here are the openings/closings to be aware of on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24.

City Offices: Closed Thursday and Friday
Schools and Administrative Offices: Closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

State Offices: The Alexandria Circuit Court Clerk's Office will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Alexandria Circuit Court, the General District Court, and the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court will close at noon on Wednesday and remain closed Thursday and Friday. The Department of Motor Vehicles office at 2681 Mill Road will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Animal Shelter: The Vola Lawson Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday but will still host its annual Kongs-giving event to create special holiday treats for homeless animals. The shelter will be open on Friday from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m., with animal visitation beginning at noon.
DASH and King Street Trolley: DASH bus service will be closed Thursday. The free King Street Trolley will operate on its normal schedule, every 10 to 15 minutes, between the King Street Metro Station and the Potomac River waterfront, from 10:30 a.m. to midnight. Emergency hotlines: All emergency hotlines operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including the child protective services hotline at 703-746-5800; the domestic violence hotline at 703-746-4911; the emergency services for mental health or substance abuse crisis hotline at 703-746-3401; the adult protective services hotline at 703-746-5778; and the sexual assault hotline at 703-683-7273.
Health Facilities: The Alexandria Health Department (4480 King St.), the Flora Krause Casey Health Center (1200 N. Howard St.) will close at noon Wednesday and remain closed Thursday and Friday. The Teen Wellness Center at T.C. Williams High School (3330 King St.) will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Historic sites: Closed on Thursday. On Friday, all museums will be open during regular hours except the Archaeology Museum (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) and the Black History Museum (closed). For more information, visit the Office of Historic Alexandria's website.
Libraries: Closed Thursday and Friday.
Metrorail: Saturday schedule. Information available at www.wmata.com

Parking: Police will suspect parking enforcement Thursday and Saturday at metered spaces, residential permit parking districts and other areas with posted parking time limits. It does not apply to permit parking in any location normally prohibited (parking zones, loading zones, or spaces for persons with disabilities). Temporary no-parking signs will be enforced. Regular parking enforcement will happen on Friday.
Recreation and Arts Centers: Closed Thursday. On Friday, the Chinquapin Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility will be open from 6 a.m.-6 p.m.; the Charles Houston Recreation Center will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and the Torpedo Factory Art Center will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. All other recreation centers will be closed on Friday.
Trash Pickup: Regular schedule during the week. On Thanksgiving Day, trash and recycling collection will begin at 6 a.m.
