$100K Top Prize Won By Fairfax City Woman In VA Lottery's Cash Game

A Fairfax City woman was shocked to learn that the Virginia Lottery ticket she bought at a local 7-Eleven was worth $100,000.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Muna Kurdi of Fairfax City was shocked to discover that the winning Cash Game ticket she bought at a local convenience store was worth $100,000 rather than the $600 she originally thought.

Kurdi knew that the Cash Game ticket she purchased at the 7-Eleven at 10140 Fairfax Blvd. was a winner. It wasn't until she visited the Virginia Lottery's Northern Virginia customer center that she had won the game's top prize of $100,000.

In fact, Kurdi was the first person to win the top prize in the Cash Game, which features a range of prizes from $5 up to $100,000. The odds of winning the top prize is 1 in 1,387,200.

Profits from the Virginia Lottery go to support K-12 education across the state. In fiscal year 2023, the lottery raised more than $867 million for K-12 education, which accounts for 10 percent of the state's education funding. Fairfax City, where Kurdi lives, received more than $383,000 in lottery funds during the last fiscal year.
