Police: Man Returned To Fairfax Garage After Warning, Gave False Name
Fairfax police charged a 33-year-old man with trespassing and giving false information after he returned to a parking garage.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A man accused of returning to a Fairfax City parking garage after police barred him from the property faces misdemeanor charges of trespassing and providing false identifying information, authorities said.
Officers were called to the 3900 block of University Drive just around 11:40 a.m. Friday after someone reported a man sleeping in a stairwell, according to the Fairfax City Police Department. Police described the initial call as a report of loitering.
Officers initially ordered the man off the property and warned him against returning, police said. He came back later and was detained. During the subsequent investigation, he provided officers with false identifying information, according to police.

Two Charges Pending In Fairfax Court
Police identified the man as Vikram Rajan, 33, of an undetermined address. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with trespassing after being forbidden and falsely identifying himself to law enforcement.
Police said Rajan was issued a $1,500 secured bond.

Fairfax City General District Court records show both allegations are Class 1 misdemeanors. The trespassing case was filed under Virginia Code Section 18.2-119, while the false-identification case cites Section 19.2-82.1.

The court listed Rajan as being in custody when the records were accessed Aug. 18. An arraignment held Aug. 17 was continued, and an adjudicatory hearing in both cases is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Oct. 1. Court records identify Erin Smith as Rajan’s attorney.
No disposition or plea was listed in either case as of Aug. 18.
An arrest is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proved guilty in court.
