2 Charged In $10K LEGO Theft Ring Targeting Fairfax County Retailers
Two suspects stole nearly $10,000 in LEGO sets and merchandise from stores across Fairfax County, according to police.
FAIRFAX, VA — Detectives have charged two people in connection to a series of retail thefts across Fairfax County involving nearly $10,000 in stolen merchandise, including LEGO sets, police said Thursday.
According to Fairfax County police, detectives worked with loss prevention teams at Target, Home Depot and Walmart between May 7 and May 13 to investigate thefts targeting LEGO sets and other items. Police said the merchandise also included small appliances and clothing.
Investigators determined some of the stolen items were later resold to secondhand merchants in Fairfax County, according to police.

Police said detectives linked the thefts to additional cases dating back to December 2025 and identified 43-year-old Reima McPherson of an undetermined address, as one of the suspects.
Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department’s Warrant Squad arrested McPherson on May 13, police said. Authorities said a second suspect, John-Ross Dika, 31, of Fairfax, was arrested nearby.

The reported thefts occurred at stores in Merrifield, Chantilly, Seven Corners and Bailey’s Crossroads, according to police. Investigators said the stolen merchandise from the incidents totaled nearly $9,500.
The following is a list of the 10 thefts involved in this case.
McPherson was charged with eight counts of grand larceny, six counts of petit larceny, eight counts of conspiracy to commit grand larceny, four counts of obtaining money by false pretenses, four counts of stolen property with intent to sell, two counts of identity theft, simple assault, destruction of property and preventing a 911 call, police said. She was held without bond, according to police.
Dika was charged with four counts of grand larceny, four counts of conspiracy to commit grand larceny, two counts of stolen property with intent to sell and disregarding a police command to stop, police said. Authorities said he was later released on bond.
