4 Arrested In 2 Separate Shoplifting Incidents At Fairfax City Store

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested four people from around the DMV who they say attempted to steal merchandise days apart at the same city clothing store last week.

In the first case, officers responded around 5:06 p.m., on Tuesday, to the TJ Maxx at 10300 Main St. for the report of a larceny in progress. The person who contacted police said that three women were concealing merchandise, according to the incident report. The arriving officers arrested three women as they exited the store without paying for the merchandise they’d concealed on their persons.

Lidia Rad, 39, of Annandale was issued a Virginia uniform summons for petit larceny. Denisa Rad, 35, of Woodbridge and Rebecca Rad, 24 of Annandale were issued Virginia uniform summonses for counseling, assisting, aiding or abetting in the performance of a larceny, according to police. All three women were released.

Lidia Rad has a June 10 hearing scheduled in Fairfax County General District Court, when she will face the petit larceny charge, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor, according to court documents. If found guilty, she faces a possible penalty of up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine up to $2,500, according to the Code of Virginia.

Both Denisa and Rebecca Rad have hearings scheduled for June 3 in Fairfax County General District Court, when they will face a misdemeanor charge of taking merchandise of less than $500 in value, according to court records.

On Friday, around 3:06 p.m., police returned to the TJ Maxx for the report of a man entering the store, taking multiple items and then leaving without paying, according to the incident report. Officers arrested the suspect nearby and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was held on a secure bond.

The suspect, whom police identified as 20-year-old Delcid Alvarez of Alexandria, was charged with petit larceny, according to police.

Alvarez was also wanted on a bench warrant for failing to appear in Fairfax County General District Court on March 19 to face a misdemeanor trespassing charge, according to court documents. He is due back in court on May 7 to face both charges.
