2 Lanes Reopen On I-495 South In Fairfax County Following Truck Fire
Fairfax County emergency crews are working to clear all southbound lanes of I-495, after extinguishing a burning tractor-trailer earlier.

FAIRFAX, VA — Two lanes of southbound I-495 in Fairfax County reopened to traffic following an earlier tractor-trailer fire that closed all southbound lanes, according to a 6:01 p.m. post on the Virginia Department of Transportation's official Twitter account. A tow truck was also reported at the scene of the crash.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded Wednesday to the report of a tractor-trailer on fire on the Outer Loop of Capital Beltway/I-495 just after the Arlington Boulevard/Route 50 exit, according to a 4:16 p.m. post on the department's official Twitter account.

At 4:48 p.m., firefighters had stabilized the scene, according to a Twitter post.
Crews are working to clear all lanes. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
