Chickens? In My Backyard?! Facts and Myths about Backyard Hen Keeping

Depending on where you live, it IS possible to raise chickens, which can help reduce your fertilizer use and give you delicious eggs! On February 23rd, Join Ed Fendley and Tom Carter, volunteers with the Arlington EGG Project (www.arlingtoneggproject.org) which promotes hen raising in Arlington and Alexandria, in a discussion of their efforts in promoting necessary health and zoning code changes that would enable more folks to develop their own source of fresh eggs. They will discuss current Arlington regulations and how hen keeping fits into the 2012 Arlington board initiative in urban agriculture and its applicability to neighboring jurisdictions.
