Fall Festival: 400 Vendors, 3 Stages, 2 Beer Gardens and More
The festival starts at 10 Saturday morning in downtown Fairfax City.
Fairfax City celebrates its 35th annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Old Town Fairfax. This year's festival will close North Street to give visitors more room to play. The event features over 400 vendors, three performance stages, two beer gardens, amusement rides, and more.
Here's What You'll Find:
- Over 400 local arts, crafts, and food vendors throughout Old Town Fairfax.
- Two Octoberfest Beer Gardens courtesy of Fairfax Lions. The first at the corner of Sager Avenue and University Drive, the second along University between North and Whitehead streets.
- Three concert stages with music acts scheduled all day.
- SunTrust Bank parking lot will feature kid-friendly music, courtesy of Rocknoceros, teenage band Nocturnal Rush, and other acts, as well as amusement park rides.
- Sculpture garden at Kitty Pozer Garden, courtesy of Fairfax Commission on the Arts.
- Pumpkin patch at Woody's Ice Cream parking lot.
- Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center open house (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Tours at Ratcliffe-Allison House (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Blenheim (self-guided, 12-4 p.m.; guided tour starts at 1 p.m).
- Check out the city's fire engines and equipment at the Volunteer Fire Department open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Free shuttle buses will run from George Mason University and Fairfax High School from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Additional parking will be available at Judicial Center Parking garage B on Page Avenue and Old Town Village parking garage (Chain Bridge Road between Whitehead and North streets).
- North Street will be closed to make way for the city's Classic Car Show and Business Expo.
- Touch a Truck at University Drive and South Street. The city's Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments present city vehicles and equipment for inspection and awe.
- Forecast calls for sunny skies, temperatures in the mid-70s. If it rains, the festival will pick up again on Sunday.
- Admission is free. Pets are discouraged.
