Judge Postpones Jesse Matthew's Trial: Media Reports
Charlottesville man faces charges in 2005 sexual assault; he's also suspect in U.Va. student's disappearance.

A Fairfax Circuit Court judge has delayed the trial of a man accused of abducting, sexually assaulting and attempting to kill a Fairfax City woman in 2005, according to media reports.
Jesse Matthew, 32, of Charlottesville, also has been charged in the disappearance last fall of Hannah Graham, a University of Virginia student who was later found dead. She was last seen with him in Charlottesville.

In the Fairfax City case, Matthew’s trial had been scheduled for March 9. But Judge David S. Schell agreed Friday to postpone the trial after the defense asked for more time to prepare, according to the Washington Post.
Schell reportedly plans to set a new trial date at a hearing on Feb. 13.
