A Lorton man was sentenced to five years for setting up a sexual encounter over the Internet with someone he thought was a minor.

LEESBURG, VA—A Lorton man was sentenced to five years in jail Sept. 14 for setting up a sexual encounter over the Internet with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl, per the Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney.

Brandon Lewis Struble, 27, pleaded guilty June 20 to one count of electronic solicitation of a minor less than 15 years old, while being at least seven years older. After serving the sentence, which is the mandatory minimum, Struble will have to register as a sex offender and will be placed on three years of supervision.

In early December 2016, Struble responded to a Craigslist ad posted by "an inexperienced young girl." Actually, the ad was posted by a Leesburg Police detective. He began to have online conversations with the "teen girl."
