Man Accused Of Blocking EMS Twice Arrested On Noise Violation: Police

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested a 44-year-old man for blocking an ambulance responding to an emergency on two separate occasions recently.

On May 29, at 1:55 p.m., Fire Station 33, which is located at 10101 Fairfax Blvd., reported to city police that on two occasions a person who was known to them had deliberately obstructed an ambulance at the intersection of Chain Bridge Road and Eaton Place as it was responding to an emergency call.

On May 31, police arrested 44-year-old Eric D'Acosta of no fixed address in connection with this case. D'Acosta was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with two counts of obstructing emergency medical services. He was then released on an unsecured bond.

Coincidentally, on May 29, the same day Fire Station 33 reported the two obstruction incidents, city police arrested D'Acosta in the same area on a noise violation.

Around 11:21 p.m., officers responded to the to the intersection oof Norman Avenue and Chain Bridge Road for the report of a disturbance. A preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown man had been yelling in the street for an extended period of time. Officers located the suspect, whom they identified as D'Acosta nearby, but he ran off. Eventually, police were able to arrest D'Acosta and take him to the ADC, where he was charged with a City of Fairfax noise violation and obstruction of justice. He was then held without bond.

D'Acosta has been charged with misdemeanors seven times for incidents that occurred in the City of Fairfax since March 31, 2024, according to court records:
