FAIRFAX, VA — A 21-year-old London Towne man was arrested Monday morning for what Fairfax County police have described as a string of early morning burglaries in the Centreville neighborhood that were committed while the suspect was naked.

"This morning, just after 4:45 a.m., our detectives — who were assigned to monitor cameras strategically placed in the community based on direct resident feedback and tips — observed what appeared to be a naked male," said Major James Curry, commander of the Fairfax County Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division, during a news conference at public safety headquarters on Monday.

"Our team moved with incredible precision," Curry said. "Within less than 30 seconds of the sighting, our drone team was in the air, confirming the suspect’s location. These drones provided an extra layer of aerial support from our Real-Time Crime Center, allowing us to maintain a constant visual as the suspect, identified as Sederick Walker, attempted to flee.

"When challenged by officers on the ground, Walker led them on a brief pursuit through a group of townhomes," Curry said. "However, thanks to the overhead vantage point provided by our drones, he had nowhere to hide. We were able to identify exactly which residence he entered, allowing our officers to close in and take him into custody without further incident."

Police Chief Kevin Davis described the evidence against Walker as a "slam dunk," citing the "Connect Fairfax County" initiative as a critical asset. The program allows residents to share Ring doorbell and security footage with the department.

"We now have technology tools that can convert any type of camera ... into something we can see real-time," Davis said. He noted that the suspect was not previously on the department’s radar and had no known criminal history.

While Walker did not steal items from the homes, he faces multiple charges of burglary and indecent exposure. "The crime of burglary doesn't require something to be taken. It’s the unlawful entry into a dwelling," Davis said, adding that he feared the suspect’s behavior would have "graduated to more serious offenses" if left unchecked.

Regarding the suspect's mental state, Davis acknowledged the possibility of a behavioral health crisis but emphasized accountability. "He can be incarcerated and he can seek treatment while he's incarcerated," Davis said. "We need to hold this person accountable pre-trial."

Walker is currently being held as the department works with the magistrate to determine bond.

The most recent burglary occurred on April 1, when a resident on Palmerston Square Lane was alerted by his phone to video captured just after 5 a.m. The footage showed a man walking up to a sliding glass door and attempting to open it.
