Police: Fairfax Woman Shot in Saturday Night Robbery
Two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and are at large, say Fairfax County police.

A 66-year-old woman was shot in the arm Saturday night when she tried to recover her purse after being robbed in front of her home, according to the Fairfax County police.
The shooting victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the police said.

Police detectives are investigating the robbery and shooting, which occurred at around 11:50 p.m. Saturday in the 5000 block of Kenerson Drive, just north of Braddock Road near George Mason University.
Initial reports indicated that a man and woman had arrived to their home after an evening at a casino. As the woman approached the front door, she was grabbed and her purse was taken. The suspect was described only as a black female, the police said.

During the commotion, other family members came rushing out of the house and began to chase the suspect.
The suspect ran to a nearby vehicle, driven by a second suspect described as a black male. The victim ran up to the vehicle as it was pulling away, but one suspect fired a gun, striking the woman in the arm.
The vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction, the police said.
