Polkinghorne is a suspect in three police impersonation incidents that officers believe began in October. In each incident, according to Crime Solvers, a motorist encountered a vehicle behind them that activated emergency lights, similar to those on an unmarked police car.
The suspect car has been described as a black Volkswagen sedan bearing Virginia license plates. In each incident, the driver did not believe the vehicle was an actual police car and did not pull over. The suspect vehicle drove away without further contact.
The Fairfax County police believe there may be additional incidents involving this vehicle and driver, and would like to hear from anyone else who believes they may have encountered this vehicle.
