Police: Wedding Ring Stolen Off Finger of Patient

It's the second report of items stolen from a patient at Fairfax Nursing Center, 10701 Main St.

Fairfax City Police are investigating a report made Wednesday that a patient's wedding ring was removed and stolen in November at the Fairfax Nursing Center, 10701 Main St., according to the most recent police crime report.

The case is the second report of an item or items being stolen from a patient while at the nursing center. Last month, police arrested a former employee for allegedly stealing and pawning jewelry they say was taken from patients at the nursing center. Police did not say if the former employee is a suspect in the latest report.

  • Vandalism 16-04155: Old Lee Highway / Ridge Avenue – On March 15 at 10:50 PM an officer observed that unknown person(s) had painted graffiti under the bridge on Old Lee Highway.
  • Assault on Police Officer Arrest 16-04302: 9808 Fairfax Boulevard / P J Skidoos – On March 18 at 12:16 AM while officers were attempting to calm several disorderly subjects in the business a female subject punched an officer in the face. Heather Gonyeau, 22, of 4450 Rivanna Lane, Fairfax, was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center where she was charged with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer performing public duties. The officer did not require medical treatment.
  • DUI Arrest 16-04318: 3800 Block of Old Lee Highway – On March 18 at 2:11 AM an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated at a high rate of speed and observed that the driver was intoxicated. Justin Jamil Coleman, 20, of 6418 Paddington Court, Centreville, was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving after illegally consuming alcohol under the age of 21 and issued a traffic summons for driving to the left of double yellow solid lines.
