Two TD Banks Targeted With Check Fraud in Fairfax: Police

Both of the men arrested in separate incidents four hours apart Friday are from south Florida, according to Fairfax Police.

FAIRFAX, VA — Two Florida men were arrested for check fraud Friday at two separate TD banks in the space of four hours, according to Farifax Police.

Nelson Ramirez-Sanforenzo, 45, of 4500 NW 9th Street in Miami was charged with two counts of uttering and one count of attempting to obtain money by false pretense.

Adriano Milanes-Vera, 20, of 5020 SW 133rd Avenue in Mirimar, was charged with forging a check and uttering a forged bank check.

In the first incident, shortly after 10:30 a.m. at the TD Bank at 11190 Fairfax Boulevard, the manger told police Ramirez-Sanforenzo tried to cash a forged check using fake identification. He was quickly apprehended.

In the second incident, shortly after 2:30 p.m. at the TD Bank at 9504 Main Street, bank employees told police Milanes-Vera tried to cash a fraudulent check. He was still in the bank and was arrested.

10800 Block of Orchard Street – On February 4 at 10:40 AM the resident reported that sometime on January 24 or 25 unknown person(s) had stolen a gold amethyst ring from a bedroom in the home.

9739 Fairfax Boulevard / Patriot Harley-Davidson – On February 4 at 1:20 PM employees reported that a male subject still on the premises had concealed several items of merchandise and and had left the business without paying for them. After investigation by the Patrol Division George William Lerch, Jr., 55, of 13615 Winterspoon Lane, Germantown, Maryland, was charged with concealing merchandise and released on a summons.
