The D.C. Department of Health confirmed 21 new positive cases of the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, Monday night, bringing the total to 137 positive cases in the District.

Thousands of students are being welcomed back to Liberty University's campus this week from spring break, as the Lynchburg, Virginia, college defies the national trend of university closures in an attempt to stop the spread of the new coronavirus, COVID-19. Coronavirus Cases Inside Prince William County Schools: Update

A Prince William County Public Schools fourth-grader and their parent have tested positive for the new coronavirus, or COVID-19, the Prince William Times reported Monday. The student who tested positive attends Pennington Traditional School student and has a low-grade fever of 101 with no other symptoms, according to a letter sent to parents from the elementary school. The student's parent has been hospitalized for the coronavirus, according to the Prince William Times.

Coronavirus: McKay Calls For Priority Testing In DC Area

Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay called for federally-supported testing sites for the new coronavirus, or COVID-19, in the DC region. McKay, the board chair of Virginia's most populous jurisdiction, wrote to the request to President Trump in a letter Monday. He joined state leaders in pushing for the DC region to become a priority location for federally-supported testing sites along with Boston, New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Santa Clara, California.
