• NRV Leading Lights honors 35 local volunteers (montcova.com) — Floyd County volunteers were among 35 New River Valley residents honored by NRV Leading Lights, with Linda Ewing receiving the Floyd Community Award and Dr. Jonathan Evans nominated for Lifetime Achievement. Their work, alongside other local nominees, supports food pantries, cleanups, and community services across the region. 
• Chronic Wasting Disease surveillance results (nrvnews.com) — Floyd County deer accounted for seven of the 11 chronic wasting disease cases detected in our multi-county Disease Management Area this past hunting season. Hunters here are urged to keep testing deer, avoid feeding them, and follow DWR’s CWD guidance to help limit the disease’s spread locally.
