• Glenvar girls bump Vikings (salemtimes-register.com) — Glenvar High's volleyball team has started the season strong, moving to 2-1 after a tight three-set win at Northside and an earlier sweep of William Byrd. Despite a four-set loss to Patrick Henry, several Highlanders posted standout stats. Next week brings three straight home and district matches, including Martinsville and a rematch with Northside.
