$20,000 In Eyeglass Frames Stolen At Richmond Highway Store
Fairfax County Police are investigating a smash-and-grab theft among similar incidents in the DC region.

BELLE HAVEN, VA — A smash-and-grab theft is being investigated at an eyeglass store on Richmond Highway, according to Fairfax County Police.
Police say the incident happened April 19 at My Eye Dr, 6307 Richmond Highway. Four suspects entered the business, damaged glass cases and stole over $20,000 worth of eyeglass frames, according to police.
Surveillance footage caught the suspects in the store. The suspects are believed to be 17 to 23 years old and were wearing gloves, masks and hoods. A fifth suspect was seen waiting in an older model Toyota Camry with tinted windows and black hubcaps.

There have been numerous smash-and-grab incidents at eyeglass stores in the DC region this year. A store in McLean was the location of a February theft.

"Detectives are following up on leads and are aware of similar incidents throughout the National Capital Region," said Capt. Frederick Chambers, commander of the Criminal Investigations Division for Fairfax County Police. "Detectives continue to work with our law enforcement partners in the region to identify the suspects involved in this incident and are closely examining others that fit this same troubling pattern."
