Mount Vernon Town Meeting Planned By Supervisor Dan Storck In February

The annual Mount Vernon Town Meeting will happen in person and virtually, featuring local and federal leaders.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck and other leaders will provide updates on the district and take questions at the 35th annual Mount Vernon Town Meeting on Saturday, Feb. 12.

The meeting will be held in person at Mount Vernon High School and virtually through Fairfax County's Channel 16 and Storck's Facebook Live. From 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., an exhibit hall will be held with county agencies and community service providers. From 9:30 a.m. to noon, there will be speakers, audience questions and answers, and a virtual tour.

Along with Storck, participating speakers will include Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay, County Executive Bryan Hill, George Washington Parkway Superintendent Charles Cuvelier, Mount Vernon District School Board Member Karen Corbett Sanders, and Reps. Don Beyer and Gerry Connolly. Following the speakers and questions, Storck will provide a virtual tour of happenings in the Mount Vernon District.

The Fairfax County Health Department will also be on site to give COVID-19 vaccines by appointment and walk-ins. More information will be announced at a later time.

The Mount Vernon District supervisor's office will monitor the COVID-19 situation, follow recommended CDC measures and adjust the meeting format if needed. Masks are required inside Fairfax County facilities regardless of vaccination status.

The Mount Vernon Town Meeting dates back to 1988. Storck's predecessor, former Supervisor Gerry Hyland, started the meeting when he was first elected. Storck has served in the position since his election in 2015.
