Police Seek Suspect in Break-In, Sex Assault
Police say a suspect described as a Hispanic man, about 25 years old, broke into a home at 3 a.m. Saturday and sexually assaulted a woman.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- At around 3 a.m on Saturday, officers responded to a home in the 8400 block of Blankenship Street (see map below) for the report of a burglary and assault.
A 51-year-old woman was awakened by an unknown male intruder, police said. The suspect threatened and sexually assaulted the victim and then fled, according to police. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was described as Hispanic, about 25 years old. He was wearing a black jacket and he was carrying a black backpack, police said.

Patrol officers, the police helicopter (Fairfax 1), K9 and Major Crimes Detectives have been canvassing the area; looking for the suspect and seeking any information about this incident. If you have any information about this crime, please call the police non-emergency number,703-691-2131.

Police remind all residents to lock all doors and windows before going to bed or when you leave your home. Motion sensor lights on the outside of your home and lights on timers inside your home can be valuable deterrents to crime, police advised.
