Sobriety Checkpoint To Be Held In Mount Vernon Saturday
Fairfax County Police announced a sobriety checkpoint will happen in the Mount Vernon District.

Fairfax County Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the Mount Vernon District Saturday night.
The checkpoint will happen between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 24.
When Fairfax County Police conduct checkpoints, hundred of drivers pass through and are screened for alcohol use. The penalty for a first-time DUI offense is an administrative license suspension for seven days, a minimum $250 fine (max $300), license revocation for one year, and other possible penalties. A second offense could carry jail time.

Police remind residents to not drink and drive. In Virginia, the legal limit of blood alcohol concentration is 0.08 percent.
