Transforming Trash into Art: Former Trash Collector Creates Art Sculptures with Discarded Items
Noah Williams to display imaginative art in May at The Art League.

Sculptor Noah Williams takes objects that some people would consider junk and creates interesting works of art. Williams uses his unique vision to sculpt intricate pieces out of discarded items, and he's inspired by his former day job as a trash collector.
Williams grew up surrounded by art, and to this day still sees purpose and potential in scrap metal and other materials. In his pieces, the Alexandria native depicts animals, machines and masks ā both real and imagined ā to inspire viewers to be aware of the waste they create and the alternative uses for disposable materials.
Williams attended West Potomac High School and Northern Virginia Community College, but his mother, who was a ceramic artist, was his main art instructor. During his time as an artist, Williams has won multiple awards in the region, including the Monkith Saaid Award for sculpture at The Art League.
