Victims Injured In 2 Stabbings In Mount Vernon, Hybla Valley
Police say the victims had non-life-threatening injuries in the two incidents.
HYBLA VALLEY, VA — Victims were injured in two stabbings in Mount Vernon and Hybla Valley, according to Fairfax County Police.
The first incident happened around 11:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 17 in the 3600 block of Buckman Road in Mount Vernon. According to police, the victim was arguing with another man who stabbed the victim. The victim had an upper body wound and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The second incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 7900 block of Richmond Highway in Hybla Valley. The victim had intervened in an altercation and was stabbed in the upper body by a man. The victim went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges were announced in either case.
The other major incident reported in the Mount Vernon Police District this week involved a barricade incident Thursday. Police responded to the 6900 block of Deer Run Drive in Groveton around 2:57 p.m. Thursday for an armed man in a mental health crisis. The man barricaded himself inside the home, leading the police department's Special Operations Division and Patrol Bureau and public safety dispatchers to respond. The officers and dispatchers peacefully resolved the situation and took the man into custody. Police said the man would receive resources.
