2 People Hit By Vehicles On Capital Beltway, Die On Scene

Two people were struck by vehicles after exiting their vehicle in a center lane of the Beltway, according to state police.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A vehicle crash on the Capital Beltway turned fatal Thursday evening in the Alexandria area, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash happened around 11:04 p.m. on westbound Interstate 495 near the Telegraph Road exit. According to state police, early investigations show Toyota Corolla stopped in the center westbound lane, and two men exited the vehicle. A Ford Ranger then approached, striking the vehicle and two men, according to police. A westbound Mazda Miata also struck one of the men.

Both men died at the scene. The remains were taken to the medical examiner for identification, examination and autopsy.
