3 Injured In Rose Hill, Groveton Area Shootings: Police

Police believe the shootings in two locations could be gang-related. No arrests have been made yet.

GROVETON, VA—Fairfax County Police are looking into two shootings around the Groveton and Rose Hill areas Tuesday afternoon. Three men were injured, according to preliminary information from police. Their injuries are non-life-threatening.

Police initially responded to the 6400 block of Telegraph Road in the Rose Hill area around 4 p.m. The people inside a dark colored Mitsubishi sedan and a dark colored Toyota sedan reportedly exchanged gunfire outside of the Midi East music studio located at 6402 Telegraph Road. A man with a gunshot wound was found and taken to a hospital.

Minutes later, officers were called to the 2700 block of James Drive in the Groveton area and found two men with gunshot wounds. The Toyota and its occupants remained on scene, while police located the Mitsubishi unoccupied overnight. Detectives are processing both vehicles.

Police believe the incidents may be gang-related and are not random. Detectives are conducting interviews and looking at evidence but have not made any arrests. Police are also investigating if the shootings were related to another in Gum Springs earlier Tuesday. Two teens were shot at a playground and had non-life-threatening injuries.
