Redistricting Committee's Work Continues With Focus On Fairfax County District Names
The county's redistricting committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors on whether five districts should be renamed.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Even after the Board of Supervisors approved a new map of local elections districts, the work of Fairfax County's Redistricting Advisory Committee isn't done.
When the board approved the new map of Board of Supervisors and School Board districts, the committee's work was extended to evaluate names of the districts. The committee's next meeting on Tuesday night will be to discuss recommendations on which districts to rename. The districts being considered are Mason, Mount Vernon, Lee, Sully and Springfield.
The committee is asked to make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors by March 1. New names will not be recommended, as the committee will only recommend which districts should be renamed.
