Alexandria Man Dies In Capital Beltway Crash
The fatal crash happened early Thanksgiving morning on the Capital Beltway near Van Dorn Street.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—One man is dead after a car crashed into a tractor trailer early Thanksgiving morning on the Capital Beltway near Van Dorn Street.
Virginia State Police say the accident happened on the shoulder of westbound I-495 around 3:40 a.m., WTOP reports. The car's driver, Christopher S. Padilla, 30, of Alexandria, died at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
The truck had stopped on the shoulder as the driver checked for mechanical problems, The Washington Post reports. The truck driver had returned to the wheel when the car struck the tractor trailer, police said.
