Alexandria Man Scores Big On His First-Ever Lottery Ticket
There's nothing like beginners luck: this man got a top prize on his first try at the lottery.

When Anthony Scinta of Alexandria bought his first lottery ticket ever, the chances of getting the top prize were 1 in 1,468,500. Even with the odds against him, luck was on his side. Scinta won the top prize of $555,555 in the Power 5s game.
That lucky ticket came from the 7-Eleven at 6401 Landsdowne Center in the Kingstowne area. Prizes range from $5 to $555,555. He is the third person to claim the top prize for Power 5s. Two top prizes remain unclaimed.
Scinta is retired and has no immediate plans for his winnings. What he does know is that the lottery may be worth trying again.

"I’m glad I took the chance," he told the Virginia Lottery jokingly. "Maybe I’ll try it one more time."
