BoatUS Relocates Headquarters To Springfield
The boat owners association had been located in Alexandria for over 40 years.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) and GEICO Marine Insurance have moved their headquarters to Springfield. A ribbon cutting was held on Wednesday, Nov. 14 with company leadership and Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity.
BoatUs, the largest recreational boating association in the country, promotes lobbying, services and safety for boat owners. It has over a half-million BoatUS members and GEICO Marine Insurance customers and around 400 employees. The new headquarters provides insurance policyholder and claims customer service and dispatch operations for recreational boat owners 24 hours a day.
"This new 65,000-square-foot building will help us grow for the next 50 years,” said BoatUS CEO Kirk La. "We will need new team members who are looking for opportunity and a solid career path."

The organization had been located at 880 South Pickett Street in Alexandria for more than 40 years before the move to Springfield. The Alexandria location was a former U.S. Army depot, while the Springfield headquarters is newly built.
The new Springfield location holds significance in the group's 52-year history. Founder Richard Schwartz had an early BoatUS headquarters office just one block away.
