Burglary Suspect Bitten by K-9 After Resisting Arrest: Police

SPRINGFIELD, VA -- Fairfax County Police responded to an early-morning alarm Saturday in the 6600 block of Backlick Road, at the Advanced Auto Parts Store.

Responding officers saw the suspect inside the business and called for a K9 team, according to FCPD. After police say they warned the suspect, the K9 team entered the business and located the suspect.

Police say he was uncooperative and resisted being taken into custody and was subsequently bitten. The suspect, Pedro Francisco Santiago, 41, of Springfield, was then taken into custody and charged with burglary, possession of burglarious tools, obstruction of justice, destruction of property and petit larceny, according to police.
