Car Hits Charlottesville Crowd: Suspect To Remain Jailed
Authorities say James Alex Fields Jr. of Maumee, Ohio, plowed into a group of counter-protesters at a white nationalist rally in Virginia.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Bail was denied Monday for an Ohio man who authorities said plowed a car into counter-protesters at a white nationalist rally in Virginia.
James Alex Fields Jr., 20, of Maumee, Ohio, remains held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. He is charged with second-degree murder and other counts for allegedly driving a car into the crowd, killing a woman and injuring 19 others.
Fields has been detained since Saturday. Jail officials told The Associated Press they don't know if he has an attorney.
