Coach Faces Child Porn Possession Charges: Fairfax Police
An assistant coach with Fairfax County Public Schools is facing 10 counts of the possession of child sexual abuse material, police say.

KINGSTOWNE, VA — An assistant track coach at Hayfield Secondary School is facing 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials, according to police.
Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department's Child Exploitation Unit opened an investigation into 28-year-old Richard Huerta of Kingstowne, after receiving a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Executing multiple search warrants, investigators found electronic evidence of child sexual abuse material associated with Huerta, according to the incident report.

On Thursday, Huerta was arrested at his home in Kingstowne and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, according to the report. He was then held on no bond.
Huerta has been employed as an assistant coach with Fairfax County Public Schools since August 2025, according to police. FCPS is in the process of terminating his contract and he will not return to the school.

On Friday morning, Huerta was arraigned in Fairfax County General District Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 2 p.m. on June 3, according to court records.
