Men Charged For String Of DC Area, Fairfax County Crimes

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- A federal judge has charged four Washington, DC men in 19 armed robberies around the area, including in Fairfax County. The crimes occurred from Nov. 1, 2016 to April 12.

According to charges in the indictment, Desmar Rashad Gayles, Andrew Bernard Duncan, Anton Durrell Harris and Lamont Kortez Gaines committed 19 armed robberies of commercial establishments and three carjackings. Police discovered a firearm allegedly used in 10 of the robberies at Harris’ residence on April 13.

All four suspects face a maximum sentence of life in prison. The charges are as follows:

The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and the FBI, as well as Fairfax County, Arlington County, Alexandria, Bladensburg and Prince George’s County Police Departments announced the indictment. The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department assisted with the investigation.
