Driver Killed In Fiery 3-Vehicle Crash Near Springfield Interchange
Three vehicles crashed on Interstate 95 early Monday, resulting in one vehicle catching fire, according to Virginia State Police.
SPRINGFIELD, VA — A driver was killed in a three-vehicle crash that caused one vehicle to catch fire near the Springfield interchange Monday, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash happened around 3:33 a.m. on southbound Interstate 95 at the 169 mile marker, which is near the Route 644 (Keene Mill Road) exit. The crash impact caused one of the vehicles to hit the cement jersey wall and catch fire, state police say. A passerby pulled a passenger from the burning vehicle and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The vehicle's driver died but was not immediately identified by state police. No other serious injuries were reported.

State police have no other immediate information and continue to investigate the crash.
