Eagles sweep Hawks; earn bragging rights for another season
Edison's boys' and girls' swim and dive teams swept neighborhood rival Hayfield on Friday night at the Lee District recreation center.
The Eagles won the boys' meet 167-143 and the girls' meet 194-116 as each team improved to 2-3 on the season. With two weeks left until the National District championship meet, Edison coach Kim Case said she's looking for her teams to finish the season with wins over Wakefield and Yorktown.
The Hawks wrap up their season with a home meet next Friday against Falls Church and a road event against Mount Vernon on Jan. 20.

Each team will participate in the district meet, hosted by Yorktown High, Jan. 26-28.
Friday night's event honored seven Edison seniors: Eliot Barnhart, Jake Caraway, Lindsey DiRienzo, Jocelyn Griser, Andy Kunkel, Isabella Ness and George Wieler.
