Fairfax County Music Teacher Accused Of Sex Crimes Against Kids

The man taught at Cameron Elementary School and was a music director at a Woodbridge church.

A Fairfax County Public Schools music teacher is facing charges for sex offenses against children, the Hanover County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday.

The sheriff's office arrested Ryan Thomas Pick, 40, of Woodbridge on Aug. 21. He is charged with five felony counts of use of a communication system for crimes against children. WTOP reported that one of the incidents happened in July.

Pick is a music teacher at Cameron Elementary School in the Rose Hill area and was music director at Woodbridge's St. Paul United Methodist Church. His website also indicates he did private lessons in his or students' homes.

FCPS spokesperson John Torre told WTOP Pick is suspended without pay. St. Paul United Methodist Church Pastor Scott Beck confirmed to the station Pick was fired after hearing about the charges from Pick's family.

Pick is being held at Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond.
