Fire Does $94,000 Damage to Franconia Home

Fire broke out near stove Saturday night on Yadkin Court.

Firefighters from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to a townhouse fire, Saturday at approximately 12:15 p.m., in Franconia. The single-family home is located in the 6500 block of Yadkin Court.

Firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from a front window of the two-story townhous when they arrived, the fire department said. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and quickly brought the fire under control, according to the fire department. No one was home when the fire broke out. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at approximately $94,000, according to the county.

According to fire investigators, the fire started near the stove in the kitchen. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
