Group Caught In Springfield Armed Carjacking: Police

Four people attempted to steal the vehicle in a commercial area of Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—A group of juveniles couldn't get away after a carjacking in Springfield on Friday, June 28, Fairfax County Police say.

Around 9:10 p.m. a person in the rear seat of her friend's vehicle was approached by the group in the 6700 block of Frontier Drive, a commercial area of Springfield. The four suspects demanded the car keys, and one showed a gun.

The victim gave away the car keys before fleeing and seeking help. Police located and arrested all the suspects nearby. One was charged with robbery, and charges are pending for the others. Their names have not been released due to their ages.

There were no reports of injuries to the victim.
