Hit-And-Run Under Investigation On Franconia Road

Police say the pedestrian is in critical condition after the crash Wednesday night.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — A pedestrian was struck in a hit-and-run on Franconia Road in Springfield Wednesday night, according to Fairfax County Police.

The crash happened at Franconia Road and Elder Avenue. Police were called to the scene around 10:20 p.m. for an injured man lying in the road. The man, who was riding an electric unicycle, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and remains hospitalized in critical condition as of Thursday morning.

Detectives are pursing leads to identify those involved but do not have a suspect vehicle description at this time. The involved vehicle is believed to have front end damage.
