2 Juveniles Charged In Fatal Shooting At Springfield Motel
Detectives believe the victim was fatally injured when another juvenile accidentally discharged a gun.
SPRINGFIELD, VA — Two juveniles are facing charges related to the death of a juvenile at a Springfield motel on Tuesday.
Police initially responded around 9:41 p.m. to a suspicious death at the Motel 6, located at 6868 Springfield Boulevard. A male juvenile was found with an upper body gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene. Several other juveniles were in the room at the time.
The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide following an autopsy Wednesday morning. But through an investigation, detectives believe one of the boys was handling a firearm when he accidentally discharged a single round, fatally injuring the victim.
