Kingstowne Area Restaurant Inspections: Dead Roaches Found

KINGSTOWNE, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from Kingstowne and Springfield inspections in late September and early October. Among the violations was dead roaches found at Bangkok Noodle in Springfield. The restaurant has a follow-up inspection, but the roach violation has been fixed, the health inspector noted.

Saigon Quan Vietnamese Restaurant: 6981-B Hechinger Drive, Springfield, VA 22151, last inspection: Oct. 4

violations: employee handling cucumbers without gloves, uncovered foods in cooler/freezer, pesticide improperly stored in the facility (all corrected)

Tropical Smoothie Cafe: 6424 Landsdowne Center #32, Alexandria, VA 22315, last inspection: Oct. 2

violation: yogurt cold holding at improper temperatures (corrected)
