KINGSTOWNE, VA — Metropolitan School of the Arts, a non-profit performing arts school in Kingstowne, is holding a 24-hour watch party fundraiser for Giving Tuesday on May 5. Faculty, students and special guests are performing to raise money for the school's Joy Fund, making up for canceled performances due to the new coronavirus crisis.

The performances are available on Facebook Live from midnight on May 5 to midnight on May 6. A recording will be available after the event ends.

"Our students have missed our public performances, spring productions, and this Facebook Watch Party is way to spread the love of music and also continue to support much needed funding for our non-profit school," said Melissa Dobbs, executive director and founder of Metropolitan School of the Arts. "During this time of social distancing, many of us have drawn comfort from movies, music, and instruments — let’s keep the arts alive in our area."
