Kingstowne Store Employees Charged In Alcohol Sales Sting

KINGSTOWNE, VA—Fairfax County Police charged four Kingstowne area grocery store employees for selling alcohol without asking for identification.

Undercover cops attempted to buy alcohol from 12 stores around the Franconia District. The officers were directed to disclose their true age if asked. If the undercover cop was successful, another officer observing would charge the employee. Selling alcohol to a minor or not asking for proper identification is considered a Class 1 misdemeanor, according to Virginia code.

• State ABC Store, 9421 Lorton Market St., Lorton
• 7-11, 9402 Richmond Hwy., Lorton
• Super Highs, 7712 Gunston Plaza, Lorton
• Food Lion, 7760 Gunston Plaza, Lorton
• Rite Aid, 7764 Gunston Plaza, Lorton
