Lemonade Stands Will Benefit Children's Cancer Center
You can help by donating at stands tonight and Saturday at Landsdowne Community Pool.

On Thursday, July 23 and Saturday, July 25, Kids Sending Smiles will hold lemonade stands to benefit the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. The Center is seeking iPads for children to use during chemotherapy and other treatment.
The lemonade stands will be held at:
- Landsdowne Community Pool, 8000 Morning View Lane, Alexandria
- 7 – 9 p.m. tonight and 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on Saturday
Kids Sending Smiles currently plans to purchase two iPads for the center in memory of KSS supporter Susan Athing who lost her own battle with cancer earlier this year. Money raised through the lemonade stands will go toward additional iPad purchases.

Kids Sending Smiles is a charity established by Northern Virginia elementary school children five years ago. Through various activities, KSS members have touched numerous lives in Northern Virginia and around the world. Locally, the children involved in KSS helped a toddler’s family acquire a service dog, and undertook various projects to assist the Lorton Community Action Center and ECHO – Ecumenical Community Helping Others.
