Man Accused Of Raping Mentally Incapacitated Woman In Springfield

The man was working as a behavioral specialist when the alleged rape happened.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—A man was charged Monday with the rape of a mentally incapacitated woman in Springfield, according to Fairfax County Police.

Police say Bernard Betts-King, 60, of Springfield, was working as a behavioral specialist at the MVLE Community Center on Fullerton Road when the assault happened. Investigations found the rape occurred in early 2018.

Betts-King is currently employed at Community Living Alternatives, 9401 Lee Highway, Fairfax. Both of the employers have cooperated with the police investigation.

He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
