Man Caught Breaking Into Cars At Springfield Shopping Center
The man attempted to steal a car when the owner was loading the trunk, police say.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—A man is facing charges after breaking into cars and attempting to steal at least one in Springfield Saturday.
Around 7:52 p.m., several people reported a man reaching into cars in the parking lot of Springfield Plaza. One person said the man tried to steal his car as he was putting items in his trunk.
An officer located the man in the parking lot, leading him to flee. A short chase ensued, and the officer took the man into custody. Police say he had to be taken down twice after trying to run away.

Ian Levinson, 24, of Arlington was arrested and charged with robbery, attempted carjacking, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and drunk in public.
