Man Charged After Armed Robbery In Fairfax County

A man robbed a driver at gunpoint and knifepoint just outside Alexandria in Fairfax County.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—A man has been arrested and charged after robbing a driver at gunpoint and knifepoint in Fairfax County Tuesday. The incident happened in the 6000 block of Farrington Avenue just outside the City of Alexandria.

Around 11 a.m., the victim reported to police he had been robbed at gunpoint. Police say the suspect pulled up in a silver Honda across the road from him and approached his car. The victim got out of the car, and the suspect demanded money, threatening him with a gun and knife.

The victim handed over cash and the suspect fled. He was not injured.

Police located the suspect in his car nearby and arrested him. Nigel Crawley, 24, is charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
