Kingstowne Martial Arts Instructor Charged With Sexual Assault Of Minor

KINGSTOWNE, VA — A martial arts instructor in Kingstowne has been charged with the sexual assaults of a minor, according to Fairfax County Police.

The accused instructor worked at Potomac Kempo, 5958 Kingstowne Center from January 2019 to November 2021. Detectives were notified on Nov. 24 after the minor victim told a parent. The minor said he was sexually assaulted by the instructor on multiple occasions since summer. According to detectives investigations, the instructor took the victim to his home during instructional periods and sexually assaulted the victim.

The instructor, Kai Rendon, 35, of Alexandria, was arrested by detectives Wednesday night. He was charged with three counts of carnal knowledge and three counts of indecent liberties by custodian and is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Victim specialists from the police department's Victim Services Division were assigned to assist the victim.

Detectives ask anyone with information or who believes Rendon had inappropriate contact with them or their child to contact the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 3 or submit a tip through Crime Solvers.
